As per the article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights, “The enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set forth in [the] Convention shall be secured without discrimination on any ground such as sex, (race, XXth century) colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status.” This charter of rights protects every human being regardless of: • their biological sex, their gender identity or their sexual orientation; • their age, their social origin, their birth and their fortune; • their language, their nationality, their ethnic origin, their color; • their religion, their political opinions, their belonging to an organization or their personal convictions; • or any other situation (their civil status, their family situation, their place of residence, etc).
